CONTRIBUTION OF ROYAL FAMILIES TO THE FOUNDING OF MAYO COLLEGE
A total of ₹17.5 lakh was spent on the establishment of Mayo College, Ajmer. This amount covered the construction of the main building, boarding houses, outhouses, stables, and other essential infrastructure required to set up the institution.

Ajmer House
Ajmer House was constructed at a total cost of Rs. 60,635. Of this amount, Rs. 5,462 came from private sources, and the payment was sanctioned by the Commissioner of Ajmer. The remainder, amounting to Rs. 55,173 was provided from imperial funds. This sum, however, is more of an investment than a gift, as the boys occupying the rooms pay rent according to their income.
Colvin House
The Colvin House was built in 1913 through subscriptions contributed by several Princes and Chiefs of Rajputana, as well as from other States of India.
Kishangarh Temple
The Mayo College Temple was constructed by His Highness Maharaja Yagya Narayan Singh of Kishangarh on 1st Apr 1936.
Kashmir House
In 1912, His Highness of Jammu and Kashmir built Kashmir House to accommodate students from his state
His Highness Maharaja of Mysore presented ₹1,000 towards the repair of the Racquet Court in December 1903.
In December 1903, H.H. the Maharaja of Alwar offered to expand the accommodation of the Alwar Boarding House by adding twelve quarters and two common rooms at a cost of Rs. 25,507.
In 1905, H.H. the Maharaja Scindia of Gwalior generously contributed Rs. 20,000 to equip the College laboratory with essential apparatus for the Science course introduced in the new curriculum.
In 1905, His Highness Maharaja of Bikaner generously offered to present the College with the Bikaner Pavilion, to be erected on the west side of the new cricket ground.
His Highness the Maharao of Kotah generously donated ₹37,000 for the construction of the Kotah Sanatorium and Nurses’ Quarters, which were completed in 1910.
In 1911, His Highness the Maharaja of Jodhpur made a munificent gift of one lakh rupees, which was devoted to the purchase of land for more spacious recreation ground.
In 1911, the College received donations from various states, including Rs. 10,000 from the Raja of Tirwa, Rs. 8,000 from the Raja of Tehri Garhwal, and Rs. 5,000 from the Raja of Bhadawa.
In 1912, a donation of Rs. 20,000 to the Endowment Fund was received from Maharaj Deb Shamsher Jang of Nepal.
