Kangra Amphitheatre:

A Legacy of Vision

Gifted by Tikaraj Aishwarya Katoch of Kangra (Batch of 1988), the Kangra
Amphitheatre stands as a tribute to his great-grandfather, Maharaja Jai Chand
Katoch, one of Mayo College’s earliest students.

With a seating capacity of 2,000, it is among the largest amphitheaters in
India. More than just an architectural landmark, it embodies the aspirations of
renowned architect and urban designer Abhimanyu Dalal (Batch of 1974),
reflecting Mayo’s vision for the future—how the campus should evolve, the
educational experiences it seeks to provide, and the impact it aims to make
both nationally and globally.
The Kangra Amphitheatre is not only a space for performance and gathering,
but also a symbol of heritage, ambition, and the enduring spirit of Mayo
College.

It was contributed to Mayo College by Tikaraj Aishwarya Katoch (Batch of 1988)
