The Centurions Pavilion: A Legacy of the Class of 1975

In 2015, the Class of 1975 convened to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of their graduation from Mayo College

More than 120 alumni returned to the campus, creating an atmosphere of warmth, nostalgia, and renewed fellowship. The occasion held particular significance, as the batch—known as the Centurions—had originally graduated in the centenary year of the institution, a distinction that continues to define their legacy.

A notable outcome of this reunion was the establishment of the Centurions Pavilion. Conceived during the gathering, construction commenced later in 2015 and was completed in early 2016. Strategically located on St John’s Ground, adjacent to Mayo Lake, the pavilion was designed as a versatile facility, accommodating both athletic events on the field and activities by the lake. Constructed at an approximate cost of ₹40 lakhs, the Centurions Pavilion endures as a distinguished contribution to the school, reflecting the enduring bond between the Centurions and their alma mater.
